Consequential Lyrics: Hand-written Lyrics of Consequence

Guests of last night's Consequential Lyrics Zine Launch at Melbourne's iconic zine emporium, Sticky Institute were invited to write down some lyrics that were of personal consequence to them and put them in the small black slotbox provided:

Here are the lyrics they anonymously wrote down:

One thing in life so far I've wanted most of all,
It was to straighten out my bends and curves.
How to escape my shape?
Become vibration.
Frida Hyvönen - Straight Thin Line

While you try to find the lines
to speak your mind, and pry it
open, hoping for an encore...
And if it gets too late
for me to wait
For you to find you love me,
and tell me so
It's okay, don't need to say it
Fiona Apple

My days
are numbered
1, 2, 3, 4
5, 6, 7
The Would-Be's - My Radio Sounds Different in the Dark

These little conversations
If I try my best
You know I never could say anything
In twenty words or less

I'd live a different story
if you were next to me...
Erasure - When I Needed You

Some boys kiss me,
Some boys hug me,
I think they're OK.
If they don't give me
proper credit, then
I just walk AWAY!
M, Material Girl

A crimson autograph is
what we leave behind
Graham Parker - Hey Lord Don't Ask Me Questions

Is it cold in here,
Or is it just me?
Lifelover - Shallow (2008)

It's times like these when I'm
on my way back out of
the woods...
Out of the Woods - Foals

Vicious. You hit me with a flower.
You do it every hour
Oh baby you're so vicious.
Vicious by Lou Reed
Transformer (1974?)
Side 1, Track 1

Dan abnormal not normal at all
missed the point of the song
but it made being abnormal seem
like the greatest thing in the world to
a 9 year old me. and completely
changed my life for the better or
worse

Something about last night,
what did you say,
Feels so cold on a sunny day
Overloaded mind as I walk this path
Think about you in a daylight bath
I feel like this on my way home
No place I'm going to is known

Girls like that
Girls like that don't go for
Guys like us
I want to see the facts
And she says, simply no
Uh uh
The Julio Iglesias
He just ain't scientific

I'll keep on looking for that lovin' feeling
I'll keep looking for that loving feeling
All of the chemists & witch doctors
They know what I'll never know.

The most remarkable thing
about coming home to you,
is the feeling of being in motion again...
It's the most extraordinary feeling in the whole world
The Mountain Goats - Going to Georgia.mp3

Even if you're miles away, I'm by your side
Don't you ever be lonely
Love will make it alright
Mariah

Elly,
I'm not someone who reads a lot into things
so my consequential lyrics are all form the hair metal catalogue. Here goes:

The bigger the cushion the better the pushin.
P. Stanley
where does love go when it dies
Def Leppard
